A face-to-face MEDA Board and Legislative Committee meeting was held on August 23rd in Anaconda. Items were proposed for the 2007 Legislative agenda and plans made for the 2006 fall MEDA conference.

A conference call was held Friday, February 24th, 2006 to discuss issues raised during the Outlook Seminars. After much discussion it was decided to email the MEDA Members information on several of these issues to prepare for a discussion on same during the MEDA 2006 Spring Conference.

***************

During the MEDA 2005 Fall Conference, the framework for the MEDA 2007 Legislative Agenda was set in motion. For the benefit of those who could not attend, those present used their votes (4) to indicate personal preference for issues they believed should be considered for MEDA's legislative agenda. The voting results were tallied and documented with the information available upon request. The list is dynamic and will change with further feedback from MEDA members and information gathered over the months leading to the 2007 legislative session. Members are encouraged to email their comments/feedback to the MEDA legislative committee as soon as possible.

In the months ahead, the MEDA Legislative Committee, with continuing input and comment from our membership, will work to fully define each of these items. Again, please feel free to make comments or suggestions about these items and issues.
