Mr. Juntunen specializes in mine permitting and environmental construction. Before attending college he worked on active mine sites performing and overseeing: fill, grade, topsoil placement, seeding, planting, weed control and stormwater management. Starting in 2004, Mr. Juntunen began working on mine permitting, including: new or amended operating permits, Federal and State Environmental Policy Act processes. He has permitted or amended over a dozen mine operations in the State of Montana; through correctly applying environmental laws/rules for the creation of mine permit applications, stormwater, pollution control and reclamation plans. Before joining TetraTech in 2018 he worked as a Project Manager for an environmental construction firm specializing in mine reclamation. He has experience in construction bidding, project/contract management and environmental remediation projects. Mr. Juntunen has also achieved certification as an Unexploded Ordnance Tech II under Department of Defense (DOD) Guidelines. He has over 150 hours flight time as an FAA Remote Pilot in Command (RPIC) operating Unmanned Arial Systems (UAS) collecting data for the creation of survey grade mapping products including: Digital Surface Models (DSM), Digital Terrain Models (DTM), GIS/CAD applications, volume surveys and orthomosaics.
