The MEDA Professional Development and Scholarship Committee has announced the  2020 Scholarship schedule.

To encourage participation, funds will be made available on a quarterly basis and to insure activity, all awards must be used within a 6 month timeframe.   We continue to encourage traditional coursework but are adding emphasis for online economic development certifications and beneficial webinars that could be taken individually or shared with staff or in a small group setting.  

2020 Scholarship Winners:  Thanks to the Montana CARES Act, MEDA has received special funding for Professional Development needs.  Marie Hirsch, Scholarship Committee Chair, announced the following winners:  Debbie Schreiber, Snowy Mountain Development Corp., CDFA Training $1,200; Katharine King, City of Kalispell, Project Manager Training, $739; Teresa Schreiner, Great Falls Development Authority, UNC Basic Economic Development, $680; and Tracy McIntyre, Montana Cooperative Development Center, Building Blocks course, $1200.   Spring Round Winner:  Tyler Menzales, GFDA, $800.


2019 Scholarship Winners:  Carly Wheatley, $500, Snowy Mountain Development Corporation, for APTAC Spring Training; Katie Weaver, MSU Extension, $600 for NDC ED101 Training; Cassandra Sunell, BLDC, $450 for Next Gen Partnership Academy training; Brett Doney, Great Falls Development Authority, $500 for Economic Gardening Certification and Training; and Suzi Berget White, MT Women’s Business Center, $500 for Montana Women’s Leadership Course; Adam Benson, $800, CDFA training; Adam Vauthier $900 for Economic Development Institute training; and Elizabeth Patten for NDC training.
