New to MEDA? We hold annual conferences in the spring and fall to foster the economic development community in Montana and provide a friendly and fun venue to share ideas, introduce people, and support growth. Every year, we head to a different location across the state to showcase what growth looks like in every part of the state.

This year, we're heading to Great Falls November 14-16! We'll have sessions downtown at the Newberry, the Haute Hive, and Rendevous 410, along with several "Discussion Dinners" covering Brownfields, Revolving Loan Funds, and much more!

You can take a look at our agenda below to see the breadth of what we'll be covering, including Master Classes for professional development.

Did you know that the Treasure State has a specialized group of like-minded workforce partners?

The State Workforce Innovation Board (SWIB) operates under the Montana Department of Labor and Industry. They pool their experience and contacts in the Montana workforce world to provide recommendations on future strategies to reduce unemployment and increase opportunity.

With the momentum provided by the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA), SWIB worked with several partners to bring together a comprehensive guide to state- or federally-funded workforce programs in the Last Best Place as of 2022.

Take a look below and share with your friends! If you'd like to talk about this guide in person, our fall conference November 14-16 will be a fantastic venue in which to do so!

At the National Brownfields Training Conference in Oklahoma City this week, we overheard some exciting news!

Katherine King with the City of Kalispell, along with Mountain West Economic Development, Flathead Economic Development, and KLJ Engineering, took home a Region 8 Phoenix 1A Award for the "Rails to Trails" project.

This success has been in the works for 10 years and we are so excited to see our state standing out in the region!

New to Brownfields? Many of our MEDA members are involved with assisting private entities and communities with handling contaminated properties and making assessments, cleanups, and renovations, and so much more possible. It is a fantastic way that our members are innovating and empowering the Treasure State!

New to the Phoenix Awards? These are awarded to individuals who go above and beyond in their pursuit of Brownfields excellence in their projects. Visit their website to learn more!
